ELEPHANT & CASTLE

Project information

This relatively small terraced house was opened up to the benefits of open plan living, which in turn required the design and the finishes to work twice as hard at bridging the space in between living and cooking areas.

Working with the architect and the clients, we developed a simple white colour which was punctuated with chunks of glass produced from the office partitions of the Price Waterhouse Cooper offices at Embankment, London. These chunks had a very slight bluish/greenish hue which gave a continuity of tone between surfaces and the painted cabinets.

A great deal of attention was given to the detailing of each surface to ensure all the junctions and shadow gaps resulted in a small jewel of a kitchen.
