VAJRASSANA - BUDDHIST RETREAT
Project information
This redevelopment of the Vajrassana Buddhist retreat in Suffolk, by Walters & Cohen Architects exceeds the clients vision of a serene and beautiful space which enriches lives of its guests and enhances the spiritual life of the local community.
The increased scale and quality of the new buildings, which utilise simple materials and local techniques create a balance between modest architecture while paying reverence of the spiritual spaces. The neutral colour scheme, and the Resilica mix, with flashes of the red glass (a sacred colour) compliments the aesthetic, its sense of serenity and contemplation.
